A Toronto Taxi drive has been found guilty of manslaughter in connection with the death of a longboarder in the city in 2012.
Adib Ibrahim had originally been charged with second degree murder in the death of 28 year old Ralph Bissonette.
He had pleaded not guilty.
Bissonette was was struck and killed by Ibrahim’s cab on King Street East near Jarvis in May of 2012.
Ibrahim maintained that he had seen or heard nothing in the lead up to the collision, but investigators suggested that the incident was a result of an episode of road rage.
Surveillance footage of the moments leading up to the collision, which was shown in court, appears to show the pair engaged in a verbal altercation.
