Does outgoing Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper deserve to have an airport named after him?
A petition, started by a Canadian currently living in the United States, seeks to see the longest serving prime minister from Western Canada honoured by renaming the Calgary International Airport.
R. Curtis Mullen created the petition HERE. It’s garnered 3,148 signatures towards his goal of 15,000.
While many support this idea, some are not so thrilled by the prospect.
Someone identifying themselves as Pierre Poutine wrote on the petition “I fully support renaming the Calgary landfill and/or sewage treatment plant after the greatest leader since Monica Lewinsky was president.”
A counter-petition is floating around, called Prevent Renaming the Calgary International Airport. You can find it HERE.
