Police have been forced to close College Street from Bay to Yonge as a precaution after a citizen brought a pipe bomb to Police headquarters for disposal.
Bomb disposal experts were called to the scene just after 6 p.m. and College remain closed until the scene was clear just after 9 p.m.
Police are reminding anyone who finds something dangerous to call them rather than bring it to the station.
