The feeling of possibility that usually comes with opening night of the regular season isn’t present for Toronto Maple Leafs this season.
New management team full of name-brand talent like Lou Lamoriello and Mike Babcock has been preaching lowered expectations from the day they arrived.
“We’re not a group, of management and the coaching staff, that wants to hang on and win games,” Leafs assistant general manager Kyle Dubas said. “We want to find the most efficient way to do so and to be able to close out games a little bit better.”
