The Fraser Institute is reporting that private school enrollment across Canada is up an enormous 17%. Public school has seen a drop of 8%.
Saskatchewan saw the largest increase in enrollment for private schools with a 34.2% increase.
Ontario, which is one the provinces that doesn’t provide taxpayer funding for non-public institutions, saw an increase of 9.4% to the private system.
Private education isn’t cheap, costing tens of thousands of dollars per student each year. Couple that with the fact that parents are still required to pay taxes that support public education, despite the fact that they’ve chosen not to enroll their children in the government-supported system.
Have you made the switch with your children? Was it worth the cost?
