Global News reports that The King Township man charged with impaired driving in connection with a collision that killed three children and their grandfather had just returned from a weekend of bachelor party festivities, according to a source close to the suspect.
York Regional Police said a vehicle carrying six people — three adults and three children under the age of 10 — was struck by another vehicle at the intersection of Kipling Avenue and Kirby Road at approximately 4:10 p.m ET northeast of Kleinburg in Vaughan on Sunday.
A source close to the suspect said the collision occurred about two hours after Marco Muzzo and his close friends reportedly landed back in Toronto following a bachelor party celebration in Las Vegas.
The source said Muzzo and his friends consumed alcohol on a private jet during their flight home, and then proceeded to a bar to continue drinking.
Daniel Neville-Lake, nine, his five-year-old brother Harrison, and their little sister Milly, two, all died after their minivan was struck by an SUV at Kirbie Road and Kipling Avenue in Vaughan.
Do Marco’s friends bear some responsibility in what happened on Sunday? Should they have stopped their friend from consuming copious amounts of alcohol? Is that not any friend’s responsibility?
