You can almost hear the collective sigh of relief from GTA drivers.
Toronto Mayor John Tory has confirmed that construction on the Gardiner Expressway will wrap up three months ahead of schedule.
“We were looking at a deadline of October of 2016, we are looking to get it done three months sooner.” Tory said.
The Mayor says the new deadline can be chalked up to the obvious measures. “By extending work hours, by increasing crews and equipment and resources.”
But there is a cost associated with that. It’s expected the increased resources will carry a price tag of roughly $3.4 million.
