The Toronto Raptors are set to sign another Canadian.
Anthony Bennett, who was the first overall pick of the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2013, will sign with the Raptors. A team he watched and followed while growing up in Toronto.
He was waived by the Minnesota Timberwolves this week and the Raptors are reportedly slated to offer him the leagues minimum deal.
Bennett was raised in the Jane and Finch area and played high school basketball in Brampton.
So far in his young professional career he’s averaged 4.5 points and 3.4 rebounds throughout 109 games played in the NBA.
