#YouDontNeedThis is a hashtag making waves online as a result of one Toronto resident, Jennifer Dawson, who’s taking a stance against cosmetic surgery ads. She says she’s tired of seeing these ads which promote procedures such as liposuction and breast augmentation, featuring women who usually scantily clad with flowing hair, glowing skin & a large bust. Last week, someone scrawled on the ad “You Don’t Need This” which led to Dawson taking dry-erase marker out of her bag to add to the protest. The hashtag started trending and similar ads in NYC are also being defaced. Is this activism or vandalism?
