Behold, the way of the future… Supermarkets stacking their shelves with beer… until they run out from limited supply.
Due to an agreement with the provincial government, only 46 million six-packs of beer will be sold in supermarkets per year.
With 450 supermarkets on board for beer sales by 2018, this comes out to 279 six-packs that can be sold per day.
Retailers that try to sell more than the quota will face an unspecified penalty.
Will you buy beer at a grocery store once it’s made available, or does this make a difference to you?
