The most wanted bank robber in Canada has been placed under arrest in Geneva.
The man, nicknamed ”The Vaulter” due to his habit of leaping over bank counters during robberies was wanted on an international arrest warrant in connection with a string of 22 robberies in York Region, Peel Region, Hamilton, Ottawa and Calgary.
The 53 year old’s arrest came on Wednesday morning when he was intercepted by plainclothes officer in the European city.
His identity has not been revealed.
A $100,000 reward had previously been offered by The Canadian Bankers Association for information leading to his capture.
He is being held in Switzerland pending extradition procedures and could be facing life in prison is convicted.
