Do you blame the cabbie in this video for losing his cool on both an Uber driver and a passenger?
Ottawa Police are looking into the video that was recently posted online. They’re still trying to figure out who this video actually implicates.
A man is shown standing outside of a parked vehicle, hurling insults, threats and profanities at the driver of the vehicle, who is recording the encounter.
“If I see you again, you’re dead meat. I’m not joking with you, get out,” the man screams.
A passenger in the backseat asks the man to cease his verbal barrage.
The man responds by screaming “Shut the f***-up, no one’s talking to you. Come out and talk to me.”
“Take a real taxi you f***ing cheapskate,” the supposed Ottawa taxi driver proclaims after opening the rear drivers-side door.
No victim has actually come forward to police, so charges may not be laid on anybody.
Ottawa has been host to some angry clashes between Uber and traditional taxi drivers, something that has yet to happen in Toronto. Is it only a matter of time before the same confrontations take the city by storm? Does the alleged cabbie have every right to be angry? Was he wrong to direct his rage at the passenger as well? Anything wrong with a consumer choosing to go with a cheaper option?
