A new clothing store in Halifax is hoping to outfit residents in pure Canadian clothing. “Canook” will sell nothing but clothes designed and manufactured in Canada. The Canook store is the definition “Canadiana” with exposed wooden beams, stone walls, old plumbing pipes for clothing racks and a chandelier made of antlers built by a carpenter from Chester, Nova Scotia. But they carry the insulated and plaid product to back that appearance up. Brands like Montreal’s Naked and Famous Denim, Moose Knuckles Outerwear and Toronto based 18 Waits will be available.
Do you think this marketing hook will work? Should more Canadian only stores be available? Would you support them?
