AM640 listener April had a horrible experience at last night’s AC/DC concert at Downsview Park:
I wanted to share my experience at the AC/DC concert last night in Toronto.
First of all this is my husband’s favorite band of all time, he almost got to see them once when he was a teenager but he had to sell his ticket because his car broke down.
So finally 15 years later he gets tickets for us through Ticketmaster. We paid 400 and change and $30 for a parking pass.
It took us five hours to get from Sheppard Avenue cut off to Downsview Park. By the time we got there we heard a solo and the lead singer saying “thank you have a good night”.
We were so disappointed and so pissed off!
My theory is that they sold way too many tickets and ran out of parking and meet everybody else wait until people started to leave the concert because that’s exactly what happened we got into the carts concert and everybody started leaving.
And to top it all off they didn’t even ask for our tickets at the gate we just walked in. Live nation didn’t awful job in promoting this concert. We got nothing for our money.
So my question to you is how many other people out there had the same experience as us and would like all the money back from live nation or whoever is making money off this.
A few corrections, they didn’t even ask for our tickets at the gate, that’s how late we were, we left at 2 o’clock in the afternoon and AC/DC didn’t go on until 9 o’clock. They were supposed to play two full hours but they didn’t.
Why was AC/DC even playing at Downsview? I would think they are big enough to play at the Air Canada Center.
You should’ve seen this line of traffic there had to of been every other car there to see AC/DC, all the traffic was from concertgoers. Also I’d like to mention that there was no separate area for the parking pass people.
They let everyone else who had purchased a parking pass purchased a parking pass rate there which was fine except they should’ve kept track because the parking lots were full and they just weren’t letting people in until people started walking out which was near the end of the concert.
We purchase these tickets three months ago we’ve been looking forward to this concert for over a month now. I don’t mean to go on so much but I am just so upset and so disappointed that this kind of thing could happen in Toronto.
Do you sympathize with her? Did Downsview drop the ball on this one, or were she and her husband INSANE to think that they’d be able to get a parking spot at a concert featuring one of the most popular bands of all time?
