Two football players at John Jay High School in San Antonio, Texas did what they were told when they allegedly rammed into a referee during a game because they believe the ref hurled racial slurs at them.
Superintendent Brian Woods claims that an assistant football coach directed the two students to attack the ref. This stellar individual has been placed on leave.
The two suspended students will have to answer to a disciplinary hearing.
Referee Robert Watts claims he made no inappropriate utterances during the game.
Were the students wrong to allegedly follow the orders from one of their superiors? Do you blame them for carrying out one of their coaches demands? Would you have refused to retaliate against the referee?
