In the wake of the Ashley Madison hack, MainStreet Postmedia conducted a poll asking Canadians about cheating. The vast majority of Canadians say they have never been unfaithful to a partner, but one in five say they have seriously considered cheating. There is a gender divide when it comes to actually cheating as 13 per cent of men say they have compared to 8 per cent of women. The numbers are more or less equal however when it comes to those who have seriously considered cheating on their partner. The survey also found that what constitutes cheating differs for men and women. According to the poll, most believe signing up for a dating website or service, like Plenty of Fish or OKCupid qualifies as cheating, though Canadians are split on flirting and 72 per cent say going to a strip club does not count.
