Toronto Police have released new statistics regarding the number of shootings in the city which are up significantly over the past two years.
So far, 103 people have been fatally shot or injured this year, which is a 56% increase in comparison to this time last year and a 25.6% boost from 2013.
Officers say the imperative escalation has raised a number of concerns among the public and the police force.
There were two additional gun related incidents that claimed the lives of two people since those stats were released.
