The Toronto Blue Jays are back on top of the A-L East after sweeping a series with the Los Angeles Angels.
Edwin Encarnacion went 4 for 4 with a homer and four RBIs bringing the Jays to a 12-5 victory on Sunday.
It’s Toronto’s 16th victory in 19 games, paired with the the Yankees’ 4-3 loss to Cleveland earlier Sunday afternoon, Toronto now tops the division for the first time since Aug. 13.
It’s been a good season for the Jays, who are leading the majors with 670 runs, and set a franchise record for a three-game series with 36.
They have a break until Tuesday, when they’re in Texas taking on the Rangers.
