Gritty Maple Leafs’ centre Leo Komarov has been fine 35,600 Euros (around $53,200) for speeding in Finland.
Komarov was caught speeding twice in his native Finland during the summer of 2014. The first time he was caught driving 77kph in a 50km zone, while the second time he was caught going 131kph in a 100km zone.
The judge didn’t buy his defense that he had no income, since he wasn’t paid over the summer months.
Traffic fines in Finland are based on your income level.
