The price at the pump is headed south, just in time for the weekend.
Dan McTeague with www.gasbuddy.com says drivers can expect to see a three cent drop at midnight, Friday. The latest drop will bring the average price of regular fuel in the Greater Toronto Area to $1.08.9/litre.
McTeague says you can chalk it all up to a drop in demand. “We’re coming to the end of summer and (the refineries) have a lot of inventory they’re going to want to get rid of.” McTeague said.
He added the downward trend could continue as well. “Early trade suggests we could see another penny decrease on Saturday and another penny decrease on Sunday.”
Many analysts, including McTeague, believe GTA prices could fall below a dollar a litre by the end of the summer.
