Drivers, take note: prices at around 50 of Toronto’s “Green P” parking lots will be going up.
The president of the Toronto Parking Authority said the board voted in favour of the increase on July 30th during a meeting.
TPA president Lorne Persiko says full list of details and changes won’t be released until next week, but some of the hikes will start as early as September 8th.
Prices will vary based on location. As an example, he said prices at the city hall will go from 2.50 to $2.75 per half-hour, and from $270 to $280 for monthly passes. Meanwhile, in Kensington Market, a Green P Garage will go from $5.50 to $6.00, and the monthly rate $135 to $145.
The increase is expected to bring in between $2-2.5 million annually. Last year, the TPA earned $129 million, with $44,345,000 going to the city treasury.
