The four major party leaders took to their first federal leader’s debate in Toronto Thursday night.
For the most part all four presented themselves well, but there were moments of head to head action between them.
Stephen Harper’s was on the defensive with his record on the economy and the environment facing an all-out assault from all of them.
Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau was quick to say that Canada is in a recession, presuming the country is at risk to continue with Harper at the helm.
Both Trudeau and NDP Leader Tom Mulcair mentioned consecutive deficits more than once.
Green Party leader Elizabeth May attacked Prime Minister Harper for bringing in Bill C-51 saying that Canadians aren’t safe in the fight against ISIS and other terrorist groups.
The main issues at the table were the economy, environment, democracy and foreign policy.
