A passenger on a Porter flight on Monday said she was asked to change seats to accommodate another passenger who she says would not sit beside a woman for religious reasons.
Christine Flynn said that a man wearing traditional Orthodox Jewish garb walked down the aisle to his assigned seat beside her.. However, the man quickly “swivelled around to the gentleman across the aisle… and just said ‘change’,” without acknowledging her.
Brad Cicero, a Porter spokesperson said that Flynn was asked by an airline attendant if she would be willing to move but would not say the reason of the request.
Flynn was offended because she was left out of the conversation, not because the man requested for religious reasons.
What do you think of this situation? Should we have to accommodate requests for seat changes aboard flights?
