One-year-old Greyson Pelvin was at Gellert Community Park Splashpad in Georgetown on Monday with his mother, siblings and family friends when he wandered onto a scorching hot metal grate, brutally blistering his feet and right hand. He was rushed to hospital where he required surgery and will go back in a week to see if he needs skin graft for his feet. The metal surface is a set of doors that leads underground – which has since been cordoned off. City spokesperson Terry Alyman says this splash pad has been around for 15-years – and there haven’t been any incidents prior to this one. Who’s at fault here? The city? The parents? Or is this just a mishap?
