Rough day for Liberal candidate Eve Adams, in the Eglinton-Lawrence nomination vote for the Liberals.
After facing some heckling from an audience during her address prior to Sundays vote, Adams took it on the chin, soundly beaten by lawyer Marco Mendicino who received just over 800 more votes.
Adams joined the Liberals in February after her former party, the Conservatives told her she would not be allowed to run as a candidate in the upcoming federal election due to “misconduct” during the Oakville / North Burlington nomination campaign.
Adams was welcomed personally into the Liberal fold by Leader Justin Trudeau and invited to run in Eglinton-Lawrence.
Mendicino, 42, a former prosecutor for almost 10 years, will now face off against Tory Finance Minister Joe Oliver in the election, this fall.
