Toronto Fire fighters battled a three alarm blaze on Joicey Boulevard near Avenue Road and Wilson Avenue.
Captain Adrian Ratushniak says that crews received a call at approximately 2:53 a.m. about a home under construction going up in flames.
There are no reports of any injuries, but there were 13 trucks and 50 crew members on the scene and officials say that the blaze was being fought in defensive mode in an effort to protect the neighbouring homes.
The Ontario Fire Marshall has been notified and the incident is being treated as suspicious.
