A Toronto cabbie returned a lost wallet to a Cuban athlete competing at the Pan Am Games.
Toronto Police say the driver picked up a woman at the Gerrard Square Walmart on Wednesday and the fare turned out to be Dailenys Alantara Pacheco.
Soon after Pacheco reached her destination, she noticed that her wallet was missing and the last time she had used it was in the cab. The wallet had all of her identification and a large sum of cash.
Pacheco approached a nearby Toronto police officer and asked for his assistance in locating the cab.
Moments later, the cab driver returned to the village and handed over Pacheco’s wallet with none of its contents missing.
Some say this cabbie deserves a gold medal for his honesty – is that a bit much? Didn’t he just do the right thing?
