Jane Doe was attacked in her apartment nearly thirty years ago. She was unaware that the rapist had attacked four other women in her neighbourhood.
Now, with the help of Toronto Police, she is launching a rape alert system that will warn the public about nearby predators.
Jane Doe was hired by the Women’s rights group, METRAC to design/develop the Safety Information System (SIS), which is a city funded program.
The program will be available through METRAC’s website and the users will receive warnings through text and voice message, email, a mobile app, and social media.
Do you think this is something that should have been developed sooner?
