De’Andre Johnson, 19, is a hot-shot quarterback at Florida State University who ended up punching Abigail Husty in the face at a crowded Yianni’s nightclub in Tallahassee. How does a 19-year-old get served at a bar in the U.S. when the legal drinking age is 21? Good question!
But there’s more to this story, and thankfully there’s video of the exchange!
When De’Andre approaches the bar where the woman was standing, she whirled around to have a heated exchange with him. He alleged that she called him a n*****.
It’s being suggested that he inappropriately touched her when he approached her location.
After a few seconds arguing back and forth, Husty cocks her fist to throw a punch, but Johnson grabs her arm to thwart that attempt. She eventually does take a sloppy swing at his face.
Johnson responds by slugging her directly in her face, knocking over items on the bar in the process. He fled immediately after taking the swing.
This all happened June 24. On June 25, FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher indefinitely suspended Johnson for breaching the university’s athletic policy.
The quarterback has been charged with battery. Husty has suffered a bruise, swelling on the left cheek and upper lip, and a cut on the nose.
Do you think she should be charged as well, considering she was try to attack him first? Is there a double standard when it comes to woman hitting men? Do you have sympathy for Johnson?
