A major climate-change conference is now underway in Toronto with hundreds of delegates in attendance.
The two-day Climate Summit of the Americas aims to bolster the fight against global warming.
But the emphasis is on the role provinces, states and other governments can play in reducing greenhouse-gas emissions.
Speakers include former Mexican President Felipe Calderon and former U.S. vice-president Al Gore.
The summit is one of two being held in the city.
The other, is the Pan American Economic Confgerence.
About 50 people marched to The Royal York Wednesday morning to protest both.
