There is great concern about possible terror attacks and much heightened security all over the United States this Fourth of July weekend. We covered the terror issue from different perspectives.
Mubin Shaikh was inclined to support the violent jihad philosophy in his younger years, but now has made national and international security his focus and has a Masters in policing and counter-terrorism. He is working toward his Ph.D, has infiltrated terror groups and was a witness for the Crown in the trial of the Toronto 18.
Christianne Boudreau’s son Damian Clairmont converted to Islam, became radicalized, joined and fought with ISIS. During one gun fight Damian Clairmont was killed. Christianne Boudreau now is involved with Hayat Canada supporting families in assisting with deradicalizing. She also supports Extreme Dialogue, a schools and community-based program providing teachers and youth workers with tools and information.
Dr. Ryan Mauro is a U.S National Security Analyst and fellow with the Clarion Project (Challenging Extremism/Promoting Dialogue). The Clarion Project reports support for ISIS within Arab nations may be as high as 42 million people.
