Toronto Fire crews battled a 3 alarm blaze at 37 Oxford Street near College and Spadina.

The call came in around 4:15 this morning and went to to a second alarm at 4:24 then a 3 alarm at 5.

Fire crews noticed flames in the back of the residence when they arrived but they believe the blaze started in the basement.

The main body of the fire was put out at 4:36 but fire crews believed the ceiling of the basement was still burning.

A TTC bus has been brought in to keep the residents warm but fire crews says all the residents got out safely.
