Olivia Chow still hasn't announced she's leaving federal politics to run for mayor of Toronto in the next election but it hasn't stopped her from wading into some Toronto issues.
Chow will be at York University today to talk about her new plan to tackle congestion in the city as part of a national transit strategy.
She was asked to speak specifically about the Gardiner Expressway and chronic underfunding of the TTC.
Chow says "we need a national transit strategy, an idea Prime Minister Harper’s government has ignored."
She has written to Toronto city councillors, including Ford, asking them to help pressure Ottawa into stepping up its infrastructure support.
