York Regional Police have closed down Kennedy Road at Denison in Markham after a deadly hit and run. A pedestrian was killed while crossing west on Kennedy Saturday afternoon. The driver fled the scene.

Bystanders tried to help the victim but it was too late.  Police say the intersection will be closed for the next several hours. 

UPDATE: Police are looking for a light coloured 1999 to 2001 Toyota Sedan in relation to the crash.
