The first day of January brings with it a fare hike from the TTC...a five cent jump in fares for those who carry metro and student passes takes effect on Tuesday.  Officials say the increase is due to operational costs and expansion of services.  Single fare rides of three dollars will remain unchanged.  To check details on how pass prices affect you, go to www.ttc.ca.
