An elderly male pedestrian is dead after being hit by a car in Scarborough Thursday morning.

Police say the victim may have been standing on a centre median when he was struck just before 8 a.m. in the Sheppard and Kennedy area.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is being questioned by police.

No name released as police are still in the process of identifying him. He was not carrying I.D.
