GE have put out a recall today for a number of washing machines.

According to the company, the basket seam can seperate during the final spin cycle, and breach the unit's top panel.

No injuries have been reported.

The recall involved the GE Profile front loading machines made between June 2008 and May 2010, in white, red and gold, with model numbers WPDH8800 and WPDH8900.

Machines will not be accepted for return, and customers are asked to either drop the spin setting to medium or low, or have someone come in to fix the issue at no charge.
