Bike lanes are back on the agenda at Public Works today.
Earlier today, the committee approved a proposal to study the lanes located on Dupont Street.
At issue, a section of lane between Lansdowne and an overpass at Osler, installed back in 2009, that bogs down traffic during the morning and afternoon rush.
Options for the study, include removing that individual section of lane, though councillors in adjacent wards fear the disconnect to Annette Street would prove problematic for cyclists.
A secondary option, is to simply remove all bike lanes on Dupont, and return it to a four lane arterial road.
Also with bike lanes, following a fatal incident at Dundas St. W. & Sterling last year, signalization will appear at the intersection, as opposed to new bike lanes on Sterling.
