WRP fined $90 thousand dollar fine for automated calls
Wildrose party President David Yeager is calling for an investigation into robocalls by all parties in the province, specifically the Alberta PCs after the Wildrose was assessed a $90 thousand dollar fine. The Canadian Radio and Telecommunications Commission levied the fine against Alberta's opposition for violating automated phone call regulations in 2011 and 2012. Yeager says the party paid  the fine immediately. He explains the calls were 'inadvertent'as the party was operating under a promise made by the vendor that the calls met all regulations. Yeager says the Alberta PCs used a similar tactic, and that PC strategist Stephen Carter made a public admission to their robo-calls on a national tv channel.

Alberta gets an "A" for health-care performance
Alberta is among the top three provinces in health performance, according to a new Conference Board of Canada report card. One of the main reasons Alberta has been given an "A" in overall health performance is because of spending. The province spends more than $4,600/person each year, which is second-most, only to Newfoundland. The Conference Board of Canada says no province received perfect scores in all 90 categories, broken down into four groups. Here in Alberta, we were given 29 A's, 28 B's, 21 C's and 12 D's.It seems the province's health professionals are effective when patients see them. But continuity is a problem, as is getting advice and information and getting care for minor problems. You can read more on the report by clicking on this link: http://www.conferenceboard.ca/press/newsrelease/13-05-23/british_columbia_alberta_and_ontario_use_different_approaches_to_get_overall_a_grades_in_health.aspx.
