Cab Clog

Gridlock in Toronto is never an issue, so the city’s cab drivers are planning to stage a traffic clogging protest.
Claiming excessive policing and ticketing practices such as picking up fares away from a taxi stand, watch out for portions of the city to be blocked by a sea of taxis.
Queen Street is an ocean of cabs on a normal day, so you may not notice a difference should this protest occur.
There are 400 taxi stands in Toronto to accommodate approximately 5,000 cabs. So it’s understandable that cabbies have to keep their eyes open for fares at the side of the road and pick them up whenever they are able. This clearly beats waiting for dispatch to send them a pick up in terms of generating revenue.
Do these cabbies have a point? Or are they just complaining?
