MAD-onna?

John Oakley returns Tuesday, August 7th. In the meantime...

Madonna's causing controversy yet again. This time for waving fake pistols and machine guns on stage, a day after the Dark Knight Rises shooting in Colorado.

Madonna was warned by Edinburgh police to cut the fake guns from her show in Murrayfield. But of course, the singer said she would rather cancel her show than censor her art.

What type of resposibilty do entertainers have in situations like this? Is Madonna right to refuse to get rid of her gun props? Or is she showing complete disrespect? Or are we overreacting?

What is the point of promoting gratuitous violence anyway? Madonna has never been respectful, and this is especially egregious on the first anniversary of the Norwegian massacre and the latest murders by the Colorado whacko!! Once again Madonna is desperate to get the spotlight back on her ego driven self because she has long ago passed her best before date & knows she has been replaced by fresh new singers & entertainers. Give it up Madge.

Gratuitous violence?...from a fake wooden gun?...When was the last time you were injured or a loved one was shot with a fake wooden gun?...Perhaps you might deal with the real issue and put your effort towards what really concerns people...Not some no nothing, no solution ranting. Deal with the real problem like real guns in the hands of real criminals, not this feel good, we are studying the problem, liberal mantra

We have become a sad society when we look to entertainers as the pillars of what to do, say and act. Society is a bunch of sheep that where ever the Sheppard leads them they will go. Entertainers are there to make money...that's it. If it wasn't the would allow for their songs, movies, books to be free. Funny how everything is circular; Hollywood keeps making movies more violent to make more money, viewers react to this violence in a theater and now Hollywood has to react to an apparent lull in movie ticket sales in the aftermath of this incident. It's all about money folks....don't let anyone fool you.

Madonna’s greatest asset is that of public relations. By no means is she an artist.

She could never sing, can’t compose and can’t play an instrument.

It’s like the “King’s Clothing”: She’s convinced people that she has musical talent.

Hardly ... name a timeless song that she has written.

I didn’t think that you could find one.

She would have done well on Madison Avenue.

Unfortunately, she duped many people into thinking that she is an artist who can make a profound social commentary.

    This isn’t 1975.

Madonna should have taken those replica guns and jammed them right up her hot tunnel of the unknown.

No one is over-reacting to this slunt.
