Gun Meeting
Posted 7/23/2012 8:01:00 AM

A summit on last week's shooutout is scheduled for today by Dalton McGuinty. The premiere will go up against his crosstown counterpart, Mayor Rob Ford.

With the support of police Chief Bill Blair, Ford will put up a fight for money and manpower. McGuinty agrees that more police resources would help, but he also believes the city needs more youth programs to keep them from guns and gangs. Premier Dad wants to hug-a-thug, while the Mayor wants to throw the thugs out of town.

This sounds like a good idea, as long as McGuinty and Ford stay away from stereotyping, deporting and trash-talking.

One has to look at exactly why we have gang violence. Most of it is due to illegal drugs. If they want a simple solution, legalize all drugs. The people who do drugs are still going to do them regardless of the law. When something is illegal it is generally easier to get because of the huge profits involved. Of course all you have to do is look to alcohol prohibition of the 1920's and 1930's to see how well prohibitions work but politicians are to short sighted for that apparently.

McGuinty sprang to action saying, quote, "I think we’ve got to beware simplistic short- sighted solutions"

So what does he want to do? Jumps right in to ban handguns. Please Dalton, tell me more about how criminals follow the law.

Bring in Caning like they do in Singapore. Middle of the road crimes; vandalism, petty theft, selling small amounts of drugs etc....can be punished with a good caning. If you can't do the time....don't do the crime. Singapore has one of the lowest crime rates for a metropolitan area in the world and these use caning. Don't put someone in jail for months for simple possession - give them 5 good whips with the cane and let them go. And for all you bleeding hearts; caning is all in the choice of the person....if you don't want to be caned....then don't do anything that would get you in trouble. But god forbid we touch these precious misguided youths.... maybe we should hug them, and squeeze them and call them my friend... All the while they poison our children with drugs and kill them for a stepping on their sneakers or for given them a certain "look". Time to reverse the tables and take back our city and our lives.

It's a problem that will always exist.

Without the top, we can't have the bottom.

Even if the current gangs in Toronto were "broken up", others would replace them.

Social Darwinism provides us with our own distinct behavioural traits.

Take a look at where the violent gun crimes are taking place...Simply put it is in the BLACK community. Therefore the BLACK community should be concerned and solve THEIR problem...That is of course if they see this as a problem in the first place. To solve the source problem, you have to go to the source...Never mind this troubled neighbourhood crap...its troubled because of the BLACK culture and the total disregard for the law. Deal with it strickly and quickly
