Water (Bill) Shortage!

A few of Toronto’s water customers could be in for a bit of a shock.

Thanks to an outside auditor’s report, it was discovered that about ten percent of users were underbilled and did not receive the correct 2011 rate increase.

It may only average out to about $30 per customer, but boy is this kind of awkward for the utility to handle.

Hours have been extended at the city’s revenue services call centre. Questions can be answered between 8am and to 6pm weekdays until July 3rd. Inquiries can also be directed to 416-338-4829.

    Rather a sad day when incompetence sets the standard, and dysfunction becomes the norm. Reminds me of that little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.

    There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job. Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it. Consequently, Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done!
