Toronto defenceman Tomas Kaberle is the NHL's first star of the week despite his team's struggles out of the gate this season.

He registered a career-high five points  in a 6-3 victory over the Anaheim Ducks October 26th.

Kaberle leads all NHL defencemen in scoring with two goals and 15 assists but the Maple Leafs are last in the league with a 1-7-4 record.

Nashville goalie Pekka Rinne was named the second star after posting a 3-0-0 record with a 0.76 goals-against average, .968 save percentage and one shutout last week.

Fellow netminder Evgeni Nabokov earned third star honours after posting a 3-0-0 record with a 0.97 goals-against average and .963 save percentage as the Sharks extended their winning streak to five games.
