Toronto defenceman Tomas Kaberle is the NHL's first star of the week despite his team's struggles out of the gate this season.
Kaberle led the NHL in scoring last week with 12 points in four road games.
He registered a career-high five points in a 6-3 victory over the Anaheim Ducks October 26th.
Kaberle leads all NHL defencemen in scoring with two goals and 15 assists but the Maple Leafs are last in the league with a 1-7-4 record.
Nashville goalie Pekka Rinne was named the second star after posting a 3-0-0 record with a 0.76 goals-against average, .968 save percentage and one shutout last week.
Fellow netminder Evgeni Nabokov earned third star honours after posting a 3-0-0 record with a 0.97 goals-against average and .963 save percentage as the Sharks extended their winning streak to five games.
