11/17/2009

10:00 Hogan’s Peanuts
The article, called "It's just nuts," appears in the December issue of Chatelaine. It focuses on peanuts and suggests parents are overreacting to food allergies, anaphylactic reactions aren't as common as people think, and that death rates are low. Groups such as Anaphylaxis Canada, and over-concerned parents are trying to ban foods such as peanut butter, milk, and bread from schools. What is like in schools now? She arrived here in 2003 as a student and filed an unsuccessful refugee claim and appeal. She pursued this new life of hers with the possibility of being deported looming in the background – isn’t that her fault?
