AM640 Hockey Insiders

DENNIS BEYAK

Dennis Beyak is one of the hardest working and sharpest hockey broadcasters in the business. In addition to his stellar work doing Leafs play by play on the AM640 Leafs Radio Network for the past 10 seasons, he has worked as a TV analyst on The Score’s hockey programs and called the World Hockey Championship on TSN. Dennis was even a General Manager in the WHL. His great attention to detail and accuracy paints a wonderful radio picture.

JOE BOWEN

Holy Mackinaw! Joe Bowen is perhaps the most recognized voice in hockey play by play. His enthusiasm for the game and his unparalleled calls are synonymous with The Maple Leafs.
GREG BRADY

While with WDFN radio in Detroit co-hosting the Jamie and Brady show, from 2002 to 2007,  Greg Brady co-hosted a Red Wing focused NHL show called "Ice Time" with Sean Baligian, as well as post game call-in shows during Detroit Red Wings playoff games. Brady has also done some freelancework for the BBC, and is the current co-host of The Bill Watters Show on AM640.

DARREN DREGER

Darren Dreger is the TSN Hockey Insider on the network's NHL and international hockey coverage. He is a Gemini Award nominee and has been selected twice by The Hockey News as one of the game's 100 most powerful and influential people, and now he’s part of AM640’s hockey line-up. This past September, Darren became the new host of AM640’s Leafs Lunch.

RAY FERRARO

Ray Ferraro is a former NHL player renowned for "calling it as he sees it." Ferraro never hesitates to call out a star player who’s loafing, or defend a maligned player if he feels fans don't have the real story. Ferraro, in addition to broadcasting on AM640, will be covering his second Winter Olympics this year as a commentator for CTV/TSN and will be seen regularly on both in-studio and between-benches analysis on TSN's hockey coverage.

ANDY FROST

If you’ve been lucky enough to catch a Leafs game, then you’ll know the voice of Andy Frost. Andy enters his ninth season as The Leafs’ Public Address Announcer at the Air Canada Centre. But that’s not all this Toronto radio icon is known for. We’re proud to say that Andy continues his role as host of the pre and post-game shows, taking fans’ calls and comments on the AM640 Leafs Radio Network. The 2008-2009 season will be Frost’s 14th year as part of The Toronto Maple Leafs broadcast crew.

PIERRE McGUIRE

Pierre McGuire is one of the most dynamic and innovative colour commentators in the business. He has called the Stanley Cup Finals, the past three Olympic games and numerous World Junior Championships. McGuire was the first of the many broadcasters to take things “between the benches” and perform colour commentary between the opposing teams during games. McGuire won two Stanley Cup rings as assistant coach with the Pittsburgh Penguins and served as head coach with the Hartford Whalers.
BOB MCKENZIE

Bob McKenzie has been covering hockey for the past 26 years. His unparalleled contacts in the hockey world, combined with an abundance of hockey knowledge and a genuine love for the game make McKenzie the most well-informed, trusted and connected man in the business. He is currently one of TSN’s veteran hockey insiders, providing updates and breaking news for SportsCentre and can be heard Monday’s on Leafs Lunch and Friday’s on The Bill Watters Show.

SCOTT MORRISON

Elmer Ferguson award winner and member of Hockey’s Hall of Fame, Scott Morrison is one of the industries great insiders. Hockey Night in Canada’s Scott Morrison has a reputation in the hockey world that serves him well. He can be heard weekdays on AM640 Toronto Radio’s Leafs Lunch, providing behind-the-scenes news and expert analysis for the Leafs Nation.
JIM RALPH

Jim Ralph begins his tenth season, providing the ‘colour commentary’ for Maple Leafs radio action. The former goaltender delivers a terrific ‘ice level perspective’ of the game. His wry sense of humour and passionate analysis is second to none in the booth. From his time within the Chicago Blackhawks organization, Jim has amassed a large treasure chest of ‘tales from the road’ from which to draw…and he shares many of these stories from high above the ice at the Air Canada Centre and around the league’s press boxes.
JONAS SIEGEL

Jonas Siegel began his career with AM640 as an intern on Leafs Lunch. Driven by his passion for hockey, Jonas attended everything he could in Toronto, learning the game from Dennis Beyak and Jim Ralph while establishing himself around the Leafs as a representative of the station. Jonas is currently the AM640 Leafs reporter and is heard on Leafs Lunch and The Bill Watters Show giving the very latest news from Leaf practices and games.
JAMIE TAWIL

Jamie Tawil has been covering hockey since his college days in Belleville when Matt Stajan still played for the Bulls. A graduate of broadcast journalism, Jamie has covered the World Juniors in Helsinki, Finland, worked as a beat reporter for the Detroit Red Wings, and currently anchors on the Bill Watters Show. You can also hear Jamie on Leafs Lunch Weekend.
BILL WATTERS

“Wilbur” has worked as the Assistant General Manager for The Maple Leafs, GM of The Leafs’ former AHL affiliate, a player agent, a GM for Team Canada at the World Championships, a hockey radio colour commentator, a TV analyst, and is one of the most beloved hockey personalities across the entire NHL. He’s signed NHL contracts, made blockbuster trades and is one of the main reasons why AM640 is considered a hockey powerhouse. He is the host of The Bill Watters Show and co-host of Leafs Lunch.
