Provincial agency Metrolinx has stepped in to build a rail link between Union Station and Pearson International Airport. It comes after a long-standing deal with a private company, Montreal based SNC-Lavalin, collapsed. The company says it's disappointed and blames the economy for the loss, saying investors were reluctant to lend money for the project. Metrolinx, a provincial transportation agency responsible for the Toronto and Hamilton area, will now own and operate the rail link which should be done in time for the Pan-Am Games in 2015.
