For the second time in less than 24 hours, a child has been rushed to Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children after being hit by a vehicle.

A 13-year-old girl was taken to the hospital this morning after she was struck by a car in north Toronto. The girl suffered serious leg injuries after she was trapped underneath the car.

Meanwhile, an 11-year-old boy continues to fight for his life at the same hospital.

The boy ran into the path of a minivan over the noon hour on Thursday. Police say he and a friend darted across the street in an effort to get to class on time after the lunch break.
