    Leafs Hammer the Red Wings 5-1

    Phil Kessel scored his first goal in a Toronto uniform as the Maple Leafs cruised to a 5-1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings at the Air Canada Centre.

    The Maple Leafs have won two games in a row for the first time all season, and have earned a point in each of their last seven games.

    Wayne Primeau, Jeff Finger, John Mitchell and Alexei Ponikarovsky also scored for Toronto, while Jonas Gustavsson stopped 35 shots in the win.

    Daniel Cleary had the lone goal for the Red Wings, while Chris Osgood made 23 saves.
