A 25 year old woman is facing impaired and dangerous driving charges after her car careened off a cliff into the Humber River late Saturday morning.
Traffic Services tells AM640 News the woman got into a minor collision with a 32 year old man. After some yelling ensued the male driver got back into his car and was chased by the woman upwards of 90 km/hr in a 40 km/hr zone.
As they approached the end of Stephens Dr. near The Queensway, the male swerved to the right as the road was ending. The woman however, flew past him through a wooden barrier and down 80 feet into the river below.
PC Hugh Smith says the car landed inverted with just one wheel sticking up. The woman managed to free herself and suffered only minor injuries.
